Abstract
On Tuesday, December 5th, 2024, Dr. Noha Nabeeh sat in her office, excited and anxious, waiting for her first cancer patient—a milestone in her goal to establish a dedicated division for cancer care. Her day began like any other: she reviewed the tasks assigned to her staff, addressed patient issues with her nurses, and carefully followed up on every detail that others might skip. Known for her compassion and thoroughness, Dr. Noha was deeply involved in all aspects of her work, from reviewing patient reports to staying on top of the latest cases.
After completing her morning routine, she ended the day by interviewing two candidates for customer service center positions on the night shift. Though recruiting wasn’t technically part of her role, she knew that until the hospital found the right HR Director, she would need to step in and oversee every detail.
Since being promoted to Hospital General Manager in October 2023, Dr. Noha has faced several challenges: limited financial resources, unclear strategic goals, a lack of organizational structure, and low team motivation. Yet, she was undiscouraged. She thrived on challenges and was determined to turn things around.
Was it realistic for her to overcome these obstacles and position the hospital for success in the healthcare sector? Could she lead it to compete with B-class and even A-class hospitals, all while delivering high-quality medical care at affordable prices for middle-class and low-income patients?
