Abstract
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to answer the research question” To what extent does Strategic Agility Sub-Dimensions (Strategic Sensitivity, Leadership Unity, and Resource Fluidity) Impact Business Model Innovation in the presence of Environmental Turbulence in the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt?
Design/methodology/approach – This research follows positivism design, the current research follows the deductive approach as it matches the study’s positivist philosophical approach This research adopts the mixed methods through two phases the first phase is qualitative and will be through preliminary interviews to postulate the importance of the topic and its impact on the pharmaceutical industry, and the second phase is quantitative adopting a questionnaire as a data collection tool taking into consideration the feedback given by the experts interviewed in the first phase
Findings – Based on the statistical analysis, Strategic agility sub-dimensions were crucial in enabling and accelerating innovation in business models, especially resource fluidity and strategic sensitivity, as organizations that can quickly adapt to change, reallocate resources, and prioritize innovation are more likely to succeed in creating and implementing innovative business models that enable the organization to face environmental turbulence to drive growth, competitiveness.
Originality/value – The study gives insights to the Egyptian pharmaceutical stakeholders to identify new opportunities by capitalizing on the firm strategic agility to improve business model innovation in the presence of environmental turbulence.
