Abstract

Gamification, the integration of game-like elements into non-gaming contexts, has emerged as a transformative strategy in enhancing employee engagement within the ICT sector. This study explores the relationship between gamification, competition, and challenge dimensions and their collective impact on employee engagement. By leveraging constructs like competition and rewards, gamification fosters an interactive environment that promotes motivation, skill development, and organizational alignment. The study also investigates the moderating role of employee characteristics such as age and experience in shaping responses to gamification. Findings suggest that tailored gamification strategies can significantly boost cognitive, emotional, and behavioral engagement, leading to improved productivity and innovation. This work contributes to the body of knowledge by addressing gaps in gamification research, particularly in its application within the ICT sector, and offers actionable insights for Gamification practitioners to design inclusive, impactful gamification frameworks.
