Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as measures of central tendency and inferential statistics such as Pearson correlation and multiple regression model. Multiple regression model was used to test the hypotheses. The study showed that employee welfare (β1 = 0.172, s.e (β1) =0.041, ρ=0.000) and equity (β2 = 0.097, s.e (β1) =0.043, ρ=0.026) had significant effect on financial performance of firm, Thus, internal CSR practices enhance firm financial performance. Abstract
Mergers in Kenya banking industry have grown dramatically since 1994. Some of the reasons put forward for mergers are to meet the increased levels of share capital, market share, firm size, information asymmetry, tax regimes, and to benefit from best global practices among others. The banking industry is consolidating at an accelerating pace yet no conclusive results have emerged on the benefits of mergers. This study sought to establish the effect of mergers on capital structure, using the case of NIC Bank Ltd. The specific objective was to establish the relationship between the bank’s capital structure and its bad loans, size, services and interbank. The study adopted an explanatory research design since it is a cause-effect relationship. It used secondary data from the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE). Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Regression analysis showed that firm size affected capital structure most (β2=0.940, p value = 0.002), followed by bad loans (β1=0.894, p value = 0.004) and bank services (β3=0.641, p value =0.000). Interbank affected capital structure negatively (β4= -0.511, p value=0.003). The study concludes that mergers increased positively the effect of firm size, services and bad loans on capital structure while interbank affected capital structure negatively. The study recommends firms in the banking industry to plan and evaluate mergers while focusing on effects of firm size, bad loan, income from services and net interbank on its capital structure.

Abstract
The main purpose of the paper was to establish determinants of flight training performance. This study adopted an explanatory design. The population of this studies 75 pilot students from 17 aviation training institutes in Kenya. The main instrument in data collection was questionnaires Data collected will be analyzed by means of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and presented through percentages, means, standard deviations and frequencies. The information will be displayed by use of bar charts, pie charts and frequency tables. Based on the findings, resource availability is the most important as it has the highest contribution to pilot training. However, effective training requires sufficient infrastructure and access to instructional materials & technology including computers, printers and internet. Instructors also play an important role in achieving successful training by motivating pilots to improve and to create and maintain a culture of safety. In order to improve the performance of pilot students, instructors need to adopt advanced, appropriate and modern training delivery methods to deliver an embodied, situated learning environment conducive to skill and knowledge development.

The researcher employed structured questionnaires as instruments of data collection. Reliability test of the instruments was done using Cronbach alpha coefficient. Multiple regression analysis was the appropriate method to examine the relationship between independent variables and dependent variable in this study. Multiple regression analysis was carried out to analyze the relationship between one dependent variable and five independent variables. The study’s outcome gives an insight to project administrators on how much impact the instituted change has on successful implementation of construction projects. Abstract:
This study was designed to compare the effect of guided discovery and discussion teaching methods on basic science and technology students’ achievement and retention in Keffi education zone, Nigeria. The study employed a Quasi-experimental research design where pre and post tests were used on settings outside the laboratory. The sample used for the study was 98 Junior Secondary II students. The study used two intact classes where one of the schools served as experimental group, while the other one was used as control group.  Thirty (30) multiple choice test items were developed and validated by three experts in the Department of Science, Technology and Mathematics Education, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. The two intact classes were taught 6 topics, 3 in basic science and 3 in basic technology for a period of six weeks. Guided Discovery was used for teaching the experimental group while Discussion method was used for the control group. Data collected after the treatment was analyzed using means and standard deviations for the research questions while ANCOVA was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. From the data collected, it was found that students who were exposed to guided discovery performed slightly better and retained more knowledge of the subject than those who were taught using discussion teaching method. However, the results of the hypotheses tests revealed that the differences in the mean achievement and retention scores of the two groups were not significant. Hence, the study recommends that the two methods could be used interchangeably for teaching basic science and technology in secondary schools in keffi Education Zone, Nigeria.
